Collection Enquiries
Verulamium Museum holds in store the excavation records and archaeological material for most excavations within the district, and the accompanying excavation reports. Access to this material for academic purposes can be arranged by contacting

Object Identification
We work closely with local metal detectorists to encourage responsible use and can assist in a number of different ways. One of these is our free object identification service available to any members of the public.

Library
Verulamium Museum's library holds two and a half thousand volumes relating to local and national archaeological sites, site reports, museum catalogues, syllogues, reference books, and journals, as well as a large number of general archaeological and historical works. The Museum of St. Albans also has an extensive library of reference books. Access by appointment can be arranged by contacting 01727 819340. Prior booking is essential.
